I got to try a variety of dishes (i.e. pinching from everyone elses' plate) and for sure it was easy to say that the somewhat renaissance painting looking 'meat fruit' was the winner.
Keeping up to date with their latest news, I was thrilled to see that they have recently won "Restaurant of the Year" award from Tatler magazine, and they are continually booked out for at least six months ahead.
If you are still vying for a table you need to be quick, and patient!
Keeping a firm eye on the London and UK food scene I can't wait to get back and explore some of the other new (and long standing) 'A' grade dinners around.
On my list:
- Pollen Street Social
- Alain Ducasse @ The Dorchester
- Launceston Place
- The Dock Kitchen (of which I live only ten minutes away from - usually - and heartbroken at myself for not having been).
- L'Anima (if even AA Gill has a few good words to say about it, it must be good!)
- Roka (having discovered a new found love for Japanese cuisine, it's definitely on my hit list).
Inspired by Niamh Shields' (@EatLikeaGirl) 'Posh Lunch Club' my friends and I had started to take to 5* lunches as opposed to evening dinner. Not only do you get a great deal, but it's much more of a treat to spend a luxurious afternoon indulging in some of the best food around.
